This hymn is a beautiful combination of a poem of God's comfort and strength and a melody that adds to the depth of the words.  As the story relates, days of despair, disappointment, turmoil, and hardship are overcome by the grace and comfort of the Lord.  He will hold us up and restore "love's purest joys".  Let us look to the Lord our God and rest in Him.
