Paul in writing to Timothy encourages him to look to the soldier, athlete and farmer for characteristics to apply to his life and ministry. And these are words we really need to hear today too. For instance the soldier follows the commands of his superior officer without hesitation. And that should be our response to God’s commands to us! Or how about the farmer, who needs patience when dealing with his crops. You can be sure patience will be needed in our lives from time to time!
