She Did It Anyway ❤️ | From Surviving School to Starting Level 3
Today’s episode is one of the most personal I’ve ever recorded.
My daughter has faced more barriers in education than any child should have to face.
Autism. ADHD. Anxiety. Bullying. School avoidance. Masking. Exhaustion. Fighting for support. Home tutoring. And countless moments when continuing with education seemed almost impossible.
But she kept going.
Against everything that stood in her way, she sat her GCSEs.
And she passed every single one.
Now, she has started a Level 3 qualification in Software Development.
This episode isn’t really about exam grades.
It’s about the story behind them.
It’s about the child who struggles to walk through the school gates but is still intelligent and capable.
It’s about the teenager whose attendance percentage never tells the whole story.
It’s about the parents fighting behind the scenes for their children to be understood.
And it’s about recognising that taking a different route through education does not mean you have failed.
Today, I get to stop fighting for a moment and simply say:
I am unbelievably proud of my daughter.
This episode is my love letter to her, and to every young person who has ever believed they weren’t clever enough because the education system wasn’t designed around the way their brain works.
And to every parent currently wondering what the future holds for their struggling child:
The chapter you’re living through now isn’t necessarily the end of their story.
Different doesn’t mean incapable.
Struggling doesn’t mean failing.
And sometimes the child everyone worried wouldn’t make it through school is the same child who walks into college ready to begin Level 3.
She did it anyway. ❤️
