A great read. A nicely paced
A great read. A nicely paced, funny and quirky book that will give the reader incite on how will all touch each others lives. Even in ways that may seem inconsequential and unintentional - the ripple effect. Can't wait for the next book from this author!

Great Author!
Like Carl Hiassen with a Heathly Dash of Dave Barry
The author gave me an audio book for a review. I was blown away. This guy/gal (?) writes like Carl Hiaasen with more of Dave Barry flair. Iâve always complained that Hiaasenâs books throw too many characters at the reader. Beach Bums keeps the characters play list to a minimum. The humorous moments are much more prevalent in Beach Bums, almost as if the author were unconsciously mimicking the writing styles of two great novelists and mashing them together.
Synopsis:
A Seminole young man hears voices all day every day. He craves solitude and finds solace living homeless at a tourist beach in sunny Florida. He and an underage prostitute form an unlikely friendship. Together they face demons and growing up. Toss in a few locals who pop in and out of the story and you will find yourself enjoying this book immensely. I wouldnât classify this novel as a romance, itâs more of a âLucky You, Big Troubleâ mixed bag of moments and living and life in a tourist town.
My teen daughter listened to some of the novel on the way to school, and she would often fuss at me to back up the recorded book so she could catch up on the parts she missed.
My only complaint was that the book ended abruptly. So abruptly I went back and checked twice to be sure I hadnât missed a couple of chapters. The story and excitement level built and built and I was expecting a showdown and bullets and snarling, but we got almost an Animal House post-script on what happened to the main story line. Alls well that ends well, but this was the only thing I wish the author spent more time crafting. Story overall gets an A, Iâd give it an A+, except for (IMO) the dropped ending.
