A Tipperary TD has called for the passport office to prioritise applications from Irish citizens who live in the country.

It comes after the Department of Foreign Affairs confirmed last month that there are approximately 60,000 passport applications in process.

Deputy McGrath says people in his constituency are in a state of desperation.
