You can be a child of God and still do what the flesh wants. This is because of your old sinful nature. You can’t train that away—you have to defeat it. The only way you can do so is with the help of the Holy Spirit. Just like a big brother defends his younger brother, the Spirit is there to help you beat the bully that you can’t dominate on your own.
