My Beautiful YOU guest this week is Elissa Lowernstern. Elissa came from an abusive childhood where she learned to hide herself from abuse and violence in the home. By hiding herself emotionally, she was saved from the physical abuse.
However, shutting down her emotions resulted in a physical condition, Rheumatoid Arthritis at eleven years of age. Her body was expressing what she couldn’t voice. Out of desperation from the side effects of the drugs she was taking she sought out alternative healing and therapies to help.
Elissa came out of this time of therapy connecting with these unexpressed emotions. Emotions that she had been hiding away from for so long, started to be released and as a result the pain and swelling from her arthritis began to heal.
