When an opportunity presented 13 years ago for Karen to step into a new role as a school chaplain she embraced it. Today she is YouthCARE Area Chaplain supporting 28 chaplains in schools in the South West of Western Australia..
She has many stories to tell of times she was able to support children, school staff and families whose life challenges compromised their ability to be at their best in the school and home environment.
When there’s a lot going on in a child’s life at home or at school a Chaplain provides a safe place to go. They provide activities, support and comfort for the children as they process their life challenges.
