Welcome to Beautifully In-Between, I’m your host Chantelle Davis, and I’m thrilled to finally launch my podcast.
Have you ever wondered why our society is ruled by binary frameworks? Have you realized you have been hiding pieces of yourself based on the rooms you’re in?
I spent most of my adult life doing exactly that, fragmenting myself based on the rooms I was in. There was the corporate version, the creative version, the stylish and curious version, and none of those versions of myself were typically fully present except with friends and family. I was terrified of what I would lose, if the people in one room found out that I had other interests that did not depend on them. The world we live in wants us totally dependent on its validation of us, and not our validation of ourselves.
Recently something shifted for me. I started letting the different versions of myself show up in ways that I hadn’t allowed in the past, and instead of my world collapsing, the rooms and the opportunities expanded. This recent change helped me create Beautifully In-Between.
The purpose of this show is to challenge the idea that you have to choose. This is not a roadmap, a self-improvement plan, or a checklist for becoming your best self. It is a space for honest, unhurried conversations with women who are pushing back on the “either or” framework society hands us and are living fully in the grey. Over the coming episodes, we will explore career, identity, creativity, style, money, and culture, areas of life that can carry competing demands.
My hope is that even if you do not agree with every guest or find every episode applicable to your life, each episode inspires you to look at the binary frameworks around you and finally ask yourself the question I opened with. Did you ever actually agree to them in the first place?
