Beauty weakens a man’s knees
and strengthens a woman’s confidence.
It is the most enticing bait on the hook of love,
a lure most men can never resist.
We are all born beautiful, with purest innocence
wrapped in the flesh of newborns that our lives erode
as the years take ther toll.
Only our eyes remain beautiful even though they
are couched in wrinkled flesh, the baby blues of a
ninety year old lady still gleam with the allure
young men fell victim to decades ago.
Age does not erase what is beautiful if what is
beautiful reclaims what has aged.
Like a tulip that withers and dies and then
returns the next year as lovely as before.
Like an old man laughing with joy
at the antics of a toddler, one can still see
the toddler in his aging eyes.
Beauty can brighten the despair of a cancer ward
with just a single flower or mark the passing of
love with bouquets on graves.
It is a humble dandelion in the midst
of acres of cracked asphalt or a
tiny ballerina on a vast stage…
in front of a huge crowd
all dancing vicariously through her
in their own klutzy souls.
The stars are but the billions of souls
who have gone on to heaven
brightening the darkness of all
of us who are left behind.
There is no water on the moon…
but you can find the moon on the water…..
There is no love without mutual agreement
but you can find mutual agreement with love…..

We become the bland fodder of God, yet God is
our father and he is anything but bland.
He planted us with perfection in the womb,
But slowly the flavors of life leech out of us
And so he returns us to his paradise to rebloom
