Because I'm God

Listen Later

Last week we took a brief look at the entire Book of Habakkuk along with seeing his first complaints. He complained about what he called injustice.

Things weren’t going how Habakkuk thought they should, and naturally, he pushed the blame onto God. Much like us, Habakkuk never considered that the decisions and actions of his people may be causing the issues they were experiencing.

Today, we will see God answer Habakkuk’s first complaints, but it doesn’t seem much like an answer. We will see God describing the Babylonian army that He will use to judge His people for their idolatry.

As we move through the message today, please don’t miss that God calls us to:

  1. Believe the Unbelievable
  2. God Can and Will Use the Ungodly
  3. No One is too Ungodly
  4. The message title for today is: Because I’m God

    Main Scripture: Habakkuk 1:5-11

    Supporting Texts - Exodus 3:1-2, Exodus 14:21-22, Daniel 6:23, Mark 5:41-42, Matthew 14:25, Luke 24:5-6, Ephesians 3:20-21, Romans 7:15, Isaiah 55:8-9, Romans 3:10, Romans 11:36, Proverbs 16:4,Matthew 16:18, Isaiah 13:11, 2 Peter 2:9

Diving Deeper. After listening to today's message, consider asking yourself the following questions:

    • Why is it hard for Christians to believe the things that God does?
    • Is it logical to believe that God spoke and there was but not believe He can use the ungodly to bring Himself Glory? Explain.
    • Why does God sometimes use the ungodly?
    • Does God operate like we think He should? Explain.
    • Why do we put limits on God?
    • ...more
