In Colossians 1:24, the Apostle Paul says, "Now I rejoice in my sufferings for you..." Joy comes in suffering when the cause is worth it. Verse 24 goes on, "in my flesh I am filling up what is lacking in Christ's afflictions for the sake of his body." What is lacking in Christ's afflictions? The saving work of Christ isn't complete until it's a message told; this is the cause that is worth suffering for. Joyful sacrifice is giving up something you love for something you love more!
