This week I'm going back to the archives. Early in my career, as a brand-new assistant, I said yes to a service I had no business doing, on a client I should've turned away. She muscled me through the whole appointment, and by the end my fingers were cut up and she ripped the work apart in front of me. I cried. It's one of the hardest lessons I ever learned.

Years later, a different client tried to run the same play. This time, I recognized it immediately, and I made a different choice.

It's real 5-ish today! My 5th Episode being 5 takeaways from running a 5K on the 5-Star Stylist pod just feels... aligned! 

This episode almost didn't happen, same as the race that inspired it. I woke up from a vivid dream, remembered I was registered for a 5K I hadn't trained for, and almost talked myself out of showing up. I went anyway, and I walked away with five lessons that apply just as much to running a business as they do to running a race.

This week I'm not coming from a place of resolve. I'm coming from the middle of it. My books have been full for over a year, but when I actually looked at them, they told a different story. Every color of the rainbow, every service type still on my calendar, even the ones I said I'd stop taking. I'm in the middle of a five year plan, and I'm recognizing that what got me from phase one to phase three isn't what's going to get me to phase four.

This one's about niching down, shedding old habits, and choosing consistency over motivation, even on the days you don't feel like showing up.
