After a year of historic moments and heartbreaking disappointments, I found myself revisiting old wounds that I thought had healed. Watching Kamala Harris—an educated, experienced, powerful Black woman—lose her bid for presidency was more than a political disappointment. It was personal. It reopened scars from my own life where I’ve shown up with everything I had, only to be overlooked, dismissed, or told I was imagining the bias I clearly felt.

In this deeply vulnerable episode, I speak from the heart—sharing my grief, my processing, and ultimately my power. What started as a journal entry turned into a love letter. One written for every Black woman who’s ever been made to question her worth. Every Black woman who has had to carry so much, with so little recognition. Every Black woman who’s tired, but still getting up every day and showing out.

Welcome to Becoming Her On Purpose. Today, I would like to share my experience with Imposter Syndrome. I can't remember a time in my life when I didn't feel like an imposter. I have often felt undeserving and unqualified. In this episode, I challenge the thought that imposter syndrome is something that is solely the burden of the individual. I believe that our environment and societal stereotypes play a strong role in shaping our experiences with this phenomenon. I also dare to think that society benefits from our insecurities. Join me as I share how I am turning this around.

I wanted to share how I found out I was Autistic. Yes, I am a late-diagnosed AuDHDer! I was diagnosed 2 years ago, and that diagnosis was a gift and a curse all at the same time. My diagnosis was the catalyst for my journey to becoming the best version of me. Becoming Her. After my diagnosis, I began to make changes in my life. I began to advocate for myself, self-care became a must, and I learned how to set boundaries. My Autism and ADHD affect every aspect of my life from goal setting to my sleep patterns.
