How do you improve yourself? It doesn’t matter who you are, you can become more than what you’ve become. My guest today is evidence of that. Clayton McLain is the owner of a utility construction company in Bend, Oregon. But he wasn’t always so respectable. In fact, he tells me in this episode, at one time in his life he reveled in flaunting his disrespectfulness. That choice led him into drug and alcohol addictions that put him at a lower point than he thought possible. At that point, Clayton says he knew he could stay the same or make a completely new life for himself. He chose the new life. No matter how good you are, you can become more. Via @RustyLionAcad To do so, he had to distance himself from everyone and everything that had contributed to his way of life. He knew he couldn’t be a “recreational scumbag” on the weekends. It didn’t happen all at once, but Clayton says always doing the next good thing on his list has helped him become more than he had become. You may not struggle with drugs and alcohol, but all men struggle with something, so Clayton’s story of self-improvement despite the odds will resonate even with the highest achievers. If you need a boost of confidence that you can improve your lot in life, this episode’s for you. If you want to know the kinds of goals you should set to improve your life, dive right in.
