We continue in Solomon's prayer in chapter 8. Solomon prays for the forgiveness and direction of the Israelite people. Ultimately, his prayer is that the Lord will forgive all the sins of His people - and ultimately God does in Jesus Christ. He appoints people to look towards the temple, but really, when people in far lands would look towards the temple they would look in the direction of the cross.
