In this final episode of Esther we see the Israelites declare holiday, and celebration and gift giving in annual reflection of when the Lord delivered them from Haman's decree. This highlights that things like Christmas are important to the Father, even the gift giving, not to be confused with the reason for the celebration in the first place. It helps us remember his blessings year after year. In the same way we can remember His faithfulness and blessings in our own life story, lest we ever forget all He has done for us. Mordecai and Esther have been a joy to read about for a father to his family. Closing a chapter on more than just a book.
