Jeremiah gives us an illustration of hardened hearts in the people of Judah. This challenges us to maintain hearts of clay, open ears to what the Lord may have to tell us. This may mean refining by fire but we know that if the Lord has something for us that requires fire, then he has something better for us we couldn't otherwise have on the other side.
