Fittingly, the final chapter of the Old Testament challenges us to walk into repentance. Ultimately repentance leads to the acceptance of Christ through the realization that we are incapable or repenting into the law of being saved by works. The old law, when taken earnestly, will reduce us to nothing and leave us waning for a savior. It's no coincidence that the next words of scripture, coming 400 years later or those of the gospel - the good news of Jesus Christ.
