But what this episode does well is point out how the medical *INDUSTRY* sort of created it's own point of fixation and hatred, and that the American lifestyle and poverty cycle, and lack of health care, and ongoing fat bias, only make things worse. Diets don't work. If you're a young person listening to this and you're already on the diet roller coaster, please get off! the 20 pounds you think you need to lose are going to put you on a lifetime obsession with it and that 20 pounds will eventually be 100 and you'll have diabetes not because you're fat, but because of the weight cycling.
