Beeswax Vinyl Daily — April 10, 2026

Listen Later

Non-musical history for today: 1858 – After the original Big Ben, a 14.5 tonnes (32,000 lb) bell for the Palace of Westminster, had cracked during testing, it was recast into the current 13.76-tonne (30,300 lb) bell by Whitechapel Bell Foundry. If you’ve never stood and listened to Big Ben (and the Westminster Quarters – the four smaller bells in the tower) chime whilst standing on the Westminster Bridge or other places around the River Thames, it should be on your bucket list.

Music history, album anniversaries, birthdays, and deaths for April 10.

Recorded in the Omniverus Podcast Studios at Liberty Plaza.
