Non-musical history for today: 1776 – The signing of the United States Declaration of Independence took place. If you’re like me, you’re thinking, ‘ Wait, didn’t we do that on July 4? ‘  Well, no. In June 1776, they wrote it. On July 4, they read it (or declared it), and on August 2, they signed it, ratifying it.
