Non-musical history for today: 632 – Fatimah, daughter of the Islamic prophet Muhammad, died, with her cause of death being a controversial topic among the Sunni Muslims and Shia Muslims. The Sunni believe she died of grief. The Shia believe that she died (and had a miscarriage) because of a home invasion led by her deceased father's father-in-law, the first caliph Abu Bakr, to subdue Ali (Fatima's husband) because they refused to recognize his authority. Supposedly, the lineage of her descendants (and thereby the lineage of Muhammad) is still intact today.
Music history, album anniversaries, birthdays, and deaths for August 28.
Recorded in the Omniverus Podcast Studios at Liberty Plaza.
