Non-musical history for today: 1902 – The Syracuse Athletic Club defeated the New York Philadelphians, 5–0, in the first indoor professional football game, which was held at the second Madison Square Garden. Oddly enough, the third MSG wasn't near Madison Avenue at all. The fourth MSG, the current one, also isn't near Madison Avenue but stands on the site of the original Penn Station.
