Non-musical history for today: 1961 – An allegedly 500,000-year-old rock (claimed to be a geode) was discovered near Olancha, California, US, that appears to anachronistically encase a spark plug. The University of Washington geologists could find no evidence that it was 500k years old. What they think it is – not a geode – is a concretion or deposits of sediment that hardened. The plug was from the 1920s and used in Model Ts and Model As.
Music history, album anniversaries, birthdays, and deaths for February 13.
Recorded in the Omniverus Podcast Studios at Liberty Plaza.
