Non-musical history for today: 1336 – Four thousand defenders of Pilenai committed mass suicide rather than be taken captive by the Teutonic Knights. No one really knows for sure where the hill fort of Pilenai actually is, and while it is supposedly real, its obscurity is fodder for tall tales and legends. However, it is just another example of religious zealots imposing their will against those who are or believe differently than they do.
