Non-musical history for today: 1661 – Oliver Cromwell, Lord Protector of the Commonwealth of England, is ritually executed more than two years after his death, on the 12th anniversary of the execution of the monarch he himself deposed. I guess it was a delayed FAFO kind of situation. He was exhumed from burial, hanged, and beheaded, with his severed head displayed upon the rooftop of Westminster Palace for at least 23 years.
Music history, album anniversaries, birthdays, and deaths for January 30.
Recorded in the Omniverus Podcast Studios at Liberty Plaza.
