Non-musical history for today: 1833 – The Slavery Abolition Act passed in the British House of Commons, initiating the gradual abolition of slavery in most parts of the British Empire. Now, boys and girls, we have to remember that abolition is not the same as elimination. And, it seems that this country’s leadership could be trying to make it “cool” again.
