Non-musical history for today: 1863 – West Virginia was admitted as the 35th U.S. state during the Civil War. Not a lot I am proud of about my home state these days (politically, mostly), but they at least broke free from the rebellious Confederacy because they wanted no part of that madness. There are other reasons, too, but good for that. Beautiful state in most places. Still would not want to live there. Sorry, WV, you were once “almost heaven.”
And, as a follow up to a few days ago… 1893 – Lizzie Borden was acquitted of the murders of her father and stepmother.
Music history, album anniversaries, birthdays, and deaths for June 20.
Recorded in the Omniverus Podcast Studios at Liberty Plaza.
