Non-musical history for today: 1945 – Adolf Hitler issued his Decree Concerning Demolitions in the Reich Territory (aka “Nero Decree”), ordering all industries, military installations, shops, transportation facilities, and communications facilities in Germany to be destroyed. What a d*ck! It came to be known as the Nero Decree, which refers to the emperor Nero, who is said to have been the architect of the burning of Rome in 64AD. Luckily, his lieutenant, Albert Speer, purposely disobeyed the order. I guess ol’ Addy decided if he couldn’t have it, no one else could.
Music history, album anniversaries, birthdays, and deaths for March 19.
Recorded in the Omniverus Podcast Studios at Liberty Plaza.
