Non-musical history for today: 1663 – The Province of Carolina was granted by charter to eight Lords Proprietor in reward for their assistance in restoring Charles II of England to the throne. This, of course, was split into North Carolina (where I live) and South Carolina in 1712. However, the two parts did not become separate and administrative royal colonies until 1729. The original Carolina province of 1663 also consisted of all or parts of present-day Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, and Tennessee.
Music history, album anniversaries, birthdays, and deaths for March 24.
Recorded in the Omniverus Podcast Studios at Liberty Plaza.
