Non-musical history for today: 1958 – The African Regroupment Party was launched at a meeting in Paris. It was organized under the “French Community,” which had replaced the “French Union.” The African countries (or, at the time, protectorates or commonwealths) under the rule of France were working with France to gain their independence. By 1960, all the impacted countries had declared their independence and left the group. France didn’t officially abolish the French Community until 1995. It was moot at that point.
Music history, album anniversaries, birthdays, and deaths for March 26.
Recorded in the Omniverus Podcast Studios at Liberty Plaza.
