Non-musical history for today: 1878 – Emma Nutt became the world’s first female telephone operator when she was recruited by Alexander Graham Bell to the Boston Telephone Dispatch Company. I don’t usually make fun of people’s names, but I can’t pass up the thought of “what if her name was Imma instead of Emma?” I guess sometimes you feel like one, and sometimes you don’t.
Music history, album anniversaries, birthdays, and deaths for September 1.
Recorded in the Omniverus Podcast Studios at Liberty Plaza.
