Non-musical history for today: 1837 – Charles Lewis Tiffany and Teddy Young in New York City founded Tiffany & Co. (first named Tiffany & Young). The store was called a "stationery and fancy goods emporium." I don't know when the "Tiffany Blue" came along, but it wasn't even registered for trademark until 1998. In 2001, they partnered with Pantone (who officially names colors, apparently) to standardize what is called "1837 Blue." So, perhaps from the beginning?
Music history, album anniversaries, birthdays, and deaths for September 18.
Recorded in the Omniverus Podcast Studios at Liberty Plaza.
