Non-musical history for today: 1975 – Sara Jane Moore tried to assassinate President Gerald Ford, but was foiled by the Secret Service. She and “Squeaky” Fromme are the only known women to attempt to assassinate a U.S. president, and both were against Ford within weeks of each other. Moore was released in 2007 on parole (even after a few escapes or attempted ones). She was later arrested in 2019 for a parole violation in which she failed to inform her parole officer that she took a trip out of the country. She only spent a few months in jail for that.
Incidentally, Squeaky was released in 2009 and is still a bit of a nutter.
Music history, album anniversaries, birthdays, and deaths for September 22.
Recorded in the Omniverus Podcast Studios at Liberty Plaza.
