Welcome to another episode of iDulting, where we try to figure out how to be functional humans without losing our minds. Today, we’re talking about the paradoxical superpower of The Beginner’s Mindset.

In a world that demands we be "experts" by age 25, there is a strange, quiet magic in admitting you have no idea what you’re doing.

In Zen Buddhism, this is called Shoshin. It’s the practice of looking at the world with a lack of preconceptions. Here is why you should lean into your inner toddler:

Experts see the "correct" path; beginners see all the paths. When you aren't burdened by "the right way," you’re free to stumble upon "the better way."

Being a beginner isn't a phase you pass through to get to the "good stuff." It is the good stuff. It’s where curiosity lives, and curiosity is the only thing that keeps adulthood from feeling like a repetitive chore.
