Cakes, cookies, and breakfast sandwiches – three categories of food  where it’s unlikely to meet somebody who couldn’t find any item on the  menu he or she wouldn’t like. (Unless this person has dietary concerns  or isn’t hungry, of course). Pulling inspiration from his aunt’s  delicious baking, culinary artist Kyle Cuffie-Scott has brought this  holy trinity of goods to life by starting his own company, Darnel’s  Cakes. In honor of his cousin Darnel who passed away, Kyle Cuffie-Scott  not only continues to bring joy to his community through his baked  goods, but he’s also made a conscious effort to raise awareness about  the HIV/AIDS epidemic and support local and national organizations that  are at the forefront of fighting the virus, disease, and stigmas. What  started off as a successful fundraiser on World Aids Day, transforming  into a presence at a local farmer’s market, and now blossomed to a  brick-and-mortar location, Darnel’s Cakes transcends your average  bakery.
