Megan and I have been sharing space and vibing about business since waaaay back in 2018ish when we met in Women Making Waves, my first foray (and collab with our friend, Jacqui) into business coaching. Back then I was still very caught up in proving myself and in undercharging for my work and living and working in an exhaustive and unsustainable way. We were also moms of very young kiddos, trying to do it all. We’ve both grown so much professionally since then and have seen the endless struggles and triumphs of our fellow business owners. We’ve also learned a lot about what success means to us and how we are (and are not) willing to show up in our businesses (and lives).

I found this delightful little photo of us with some of our business besties from back in the day. It’s so fun to think about how each of us has grown since 2019 when we all shared space at our “Network Like it’s 2024” Event. Hahaha. It just hit me that this was an event to help us each embody our future selves, 5 years in the future. Isn’t it ironic that we’re just now catching up with ourselves?

Back then, I showed up dressed in character as a retreat leader. I had yet to run my first retreat, but I did the following year in February 2020. I remember Megan’s intentions of speaking to large audiences and teaching at huge venues. I also remember brainstorming with her as she worked out the kinks to prepare for her big debut a couple of years ago at an industry conference for marketing professionals. I love that we both were able to step into the visions we had for ourselves, individually. Now here we are, actually stepping into 2024 and collaborating on a series of Business Retreats and an incubator, together. I don’t think I could dream of something so big at the time.
