Joining Mario this morning to talk new music, writing hit singles for John Legend, Niall Horan, Britney Spears, Westlife and more was the talented and gracious Ruth Anne Cunningham. Ruth joined Mario earlier in the year for the "Story Behind the Song".  But we wanted more more more of this wonderful lady!

Ruth Anne has been through a tough time with her health this year and has shared her story of the crippling pain of endometriosis and how she managed the disease while trying to perform and get on with day to day life. She has now gone through surgery but has been raising awareness for women to be aware of the symptoms of endometriosis and not endure chronic period pain which could be something else.

She also talked about her new music finally getting to us! After years of writing for huge pop stars, it was time for Ruth Anne to bring music out in her own name with her new album "Matters of the Heart"

I feel like it took me years to find my own voice, but I kept coming back to soul pop. I wrote it over a three year period in my late twenties, its about the journey of heartbreak to hope to love.

She is also recently a Grammy nominated song writer after co-writing  "No Place Like Home"on John Legend`s A Legendary Christmas" in the Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album.

If that wasnt enough she also co -wrote Niall Horan`s smash hit single this year "Nice to Meet Ya" , Ruth Anne took us behind the scenes by kindly sharing the voice notes from the recording with Niall on making that whopper tune!
