When something is put under a lot of pressure, many times, it bursts, because of all the tension that’s been pressing in, and there needs to be some kind of relief. It’s realistic to think that a man named Pilate was feeling the weight of this, as an angry and violent mob put pressure on him to make a decision he knew was wrong.
