Elder Blessing:
God (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit) said “Let there be light in the expanse of the heavens!”
In a moment, 200 sextillion stars across 2 trillion galaxies came to be, stretched across the universe a distance of 93 billion light years.
Then God said “let us make man in our image (“IMAGO DAY”….), after our likeness.” God took the “dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life.” In a moment flesh and blood made up of 30 trillion red blood cells, containing 260 million proteins carried 6 quarts of blood with every heart beat to 60 thousand miles of veins, arteries, and capillaries. That’s twice the circumference of planet Earth.
God is bigger than big, more majestic than we imagine. We, like the disciples, can miss the majesty and miracle of Jesus by getting caught up in the ordinary and the man-made box we’ve put Him in.
The blessing is this: Jesus stood on the shore watching the 12 struggle with the force of a head wind. He will allow the storm for the purpose of refining you to see Him more clearly, BUT He will never leave you or forsake you. He is not angry, apathetic, or absent. Mark tells us that Jesus “meant to pass them by,” with intentionality. They needed another miracle to soften their ”hard hearts.” Don’t let the mundane or the trials take away the bigness, goodness, and closeness of our Savior. Worship him this Christmas season knowing that He is the same Jesus that created the universe, cast out demons, multiplied five loaves and two fish, parted seas, walked and stilled waters, healed lepers, opened blind eyes, and raised the dead. THIS SEASON, REIMAGINE AND WORSHIP THE GOD WHO IS BIGGER THAN BIG, CLOSER THAN CLOSE, AND GOODER THAN GOOD!
