Orly Israel started his journey of becoming a better listener a couple of years ago. He wanted to make a difference in communication skills because he saw many relationships
that could be better. His inspiration came from his father, who taught him that when writing, every character's actions and words must make sense. Orly's first listening table was set up in a field near a high school, and although there were few people, he had a meaningful conversation with his next-door neighbor. His experience volunteering in prisons with the organization Freedom to Choose
further solidified his belief in the power of listening. Loneliness is a significant issue in today's society, with Gen Z being the loneliest generation. Loneliness is linked to mental health problems and even early death. The pandemic has exacerbated feelings of loneliness and isolation, specially among young people.
