In this episode (S02E05) of "How to Product?", Arjav Jain, the host speaks to Aatir Abdul Rauf, Director of Marketing and Product Management at VFairs. Aatir has spent a large part of his career leading both marketing and product teams at various organizations and he talks about how to become a better product manager by picking up lessons from a marketer's playbook - know what the customers want, why does the customer want what they want, why do we offer what we offer & how are better than everybody else. Aatir then beautifully lays out some great rules to follow to be better at stakeholder management - an important skill for a product manager. He then goes on to speak his mind about what he'd like to change about this role in practice from his observations over the years - some great insights here for product leaders to set the culture in their orgs. Aatir then talks about how he looks at his own professional growth over the years and what has been his core while moving up the ladder and building great products for the world. He leaves us with tips for folks looking to break into the role either as fresh graduates and for experienced professionals looking to pivot into product management.
