In this episode I am talking to Niela Miller, truly a creature of infinite possibilities. Born into family of artists she pursued a major in Creative arts and has made arts and composed music throughout her career. In addition she maintains a Gestalt therapy practice. Throughout her eclectic life, she has used expressive media in almost everything she does. A large part of training others has been teaching teachers, coaches, therapists, consultants and business oriented individuals how to utilize arts-based processes in their work. She has also devised ways of applying psychological models beyond therapeutic use, in business settings. One of her areas of specialty was working with transgender individuals. Documenting these experiences, she wrote a wrote a book called “Counseling in Genderland” in 1996, the first book for helping counsellors and therapists prepare for working humanistically with this population. Since 2007, she became involved in virtual education in Second Life ( www.secondlife.com ) and was an innovator in using the building technology symbolically for many personal and professional purposes. You can connect with her and find more information about her work on www.peoplesystemspotential.com. At 86 years old she is still bursting with creativity and I invite you to take a peak at her wonderful art gallery here https://padlet.com/artsfem2003/3qcxcop0xx0nq4ii
