In this episode, we talk to Dr. Jay Wamsted about what it means for him as a White male teacher to be culturally responsive in his Atlanta high school classroom.  Dr. Wamsted discusses his journey from thinking “folks are folks” to recognizing and honoring differences in the classroom. We also discuss the key elements of the culturally-responsive teaching and leading standards being adopted in Illinois.
