February 2022, my guest, April Federico, was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes in the worst way possible: diabetic keto acidosis, which is very deadly and dangerous. There was a turning point in the first couple of weeks of her diagnosis where she stopped crying and said "you know, I can b*tch and moan about this, or I can do something about it." So April educated herself in diabetes and what she could and could not eat, what made blood sugars spike, and what didn't. April chose to be the one that people needed and she has people tell her, "the work you're doing is saving lives!" So, April became a type 2 diabetes coach for women. Except, she didn't want to focus on just nutrition, she wanted to focus on the mindset. It's with the mindset of confidence and emotional resilience that April was able to lower her Hbg a1c from a 13% to 6.6% in less than two months.
