At this horrific moment in Jewish history, I reflect on how this feels different, more personal. While my grandparents lived through pogroms and I lost family members in the Holocaust, the recent attack on Israel by Hamas and the response of much of the world feels threatening in a new way. I share feeling abandoned by the left with which I've identified due to the calous acceptance of the Hamas response to occupation.
