The Everyday Storyteller

Being more vulnerable might just make you stronger.

Opening up to your audience can help you build deeper connections, creating trust and encouraging more meaningful conversations. Here are my tips:

  1. When you talk about your own experiences, you’ll naturally display some of the emotions you felt at the time, making it a much more authentic interaction.
  2. Conflict is a powerful tool. Don’t be afraid to talk about times when you faced down potential disaster but succeeded in the end. Or even when actually you didn’t succeed but you learnt a key lesson from it.
  3. Make sure your story has a positive message. Being vulnerable isn’t about getting the sympathy vote; it’s about sharing in a way that helps your audience to do something.
  4. Invite your audience to share and give them a platform to do so. Being part of a discussion about vulnerability is often an easier route than just putting yourself out there alone.

  5. For women with something to say, The Everyday Storyteller is a podcast about making your voice matter, one day at a time.

5 Star ratings and reviews help other women discover the show and learn how to ensure their voice matters too. So please, don't forget to leave one.
