Mel’s Mindful Moments S1-E8 transcript:
Just because someone is new, doesn't mean they are not noteworthy!
Everyone has within them their own inherent value. So just because they are FNGs (Friggin' New Guys or Gals), doesn't mean they can't contribute to the team.
In fact the opposite is true, their contributions may help improve operations. I mean let’s face it, incumbents have been doing the same job, the same way for years, never questioning efficiency.
However, someone coming in the organization who is new, are going to see things with fresh eyes. They’ll be exposed to things for the first time, so they will perceive things differently and possibly invoke new ideas that may improve operations and efficiency.
Never shut out new members of your team or organization. They often become one of your greatest assets. Besides that, why did you hire them in the first place? Why did you let that person become a part of your team?
So, embrace their new ideas and new perspectives, it may be the best thing that you've ever done for your organization.
