Madam Athlete

Being Resilient with Paralympic Triathlete Amy Dixon

Listen Later

Today I’m talking to Paralympic triathlete Amy Dixon.

Amy is a visually impaired professional triathlete and a member of the USA Paratriathlon National Team. When Amy was in college, she was diagnosed with a rare autoimmune disease that caused her to progressively lose her vision. As circumstances have changed, Amy has always pivoted back to her passions, first as a student, then as a professional sommelier, and finally as a world-class triathlete. She is a nine-time ITU World Paratriathlon Event Medalist and competed at the Tokyo Paralympics. Amy is continuing to train for the 2024 Paris games while working to inspire the next generation of triathletes.

We talk about:

  • Being resilient and figuring things out as you go along
  • Multitasking and prioritization
  • Passing on the knowledge we learned the hard way
